Four Fighting Knives, c. 1940s-70s, a Bowie-style knife with a wood grip and copper rivets, with a steel blade marked "MATT SULLIVAN," a leather scabbard with copper rivets, marked on the belt loop "M.P. SULLIVAN"; a knife made from a file with a wooden grip and steel guard, steel blade with file teeth still showing, and a leather sheath with a stamped basketweave pattern; a knife with a leather grip, marked on the ricasso "KA-BAR/OLEAN. N.Y." and "U.S.M.C.," engraved in the blood groove on one side "GY SGT STEPHEN GREEN" and "MAG-4 DET A" on the other, with a leather sheath; and a knife with a leather grip and a steel blade, engraved in the blood groove "M.J. JACOBSON/4414-15709," with a fiber navy scabbard marked "SS/MARY LYON/BA-HR-108." Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio.
