Dent Two-day Marine Chronometer, no. 49872, "Maker to the Queen," 61 Strand & 4 Royal Exchange, London, 4-in. silvered dial marked with maker's name, location, and number as above, subsidiary seconds and up/down indicator dials, chain fusee movement with helical hairspring, Dent's balance, and spring detent, in a fully gimbaled brass bowl, all housed in a glazed, three-tier mahogany box with an enameled disc on the front marked "Dent 49872," ht. 7 3/4 in. Estimate $3,000-5,000 Chronometer is currently running. Two circular stains on top of box.
