Three Matthew Berge Lacquered Brass Instruments, London, first quarter 19th century, a gunner's perpendicular leveling scribe with inset steel feet, scribe, and a spirit level marked "Berge"; a 6-in. sector with engraved scales on both sides marked "M. Berge"; and a pair of large 23-in. calipers with inset steel tips, scales on both sides, and marked "M. Berge/London/late Ramsden/A.U." Note: Berge was the successor to Ramsden.
