Two Pages from an Illuminated Manuscript, Persia, possibly 16th century, ink, opaque color, and gilt on paper, the left leaf with a miniature painting depicting a man and a woman holding an offering cup in their outstretched hands, the right with four columns of text in nastaliq calligraphy, the remainder of the page decorated with figures, trees, beasts all in gilt, framed and glazed, sight size 9 1/4 x 12 5/8 in. Estimate $800-1,000 3/8 in. wide hole at center of painting, border with gilt loss and staining, loss and glue residue on center edge of pages.
