Two Pages from an Illuminated Manuscript, Persia, possibly 16th century, ink, opaque color, and gilt on paper, the left leaf with a miniature painting depicting a gathering of people drinking, one pointing to a bird's nest nearby, the right with four columns of text in nastaliq calligraphy, the remainder of the pages decorated with figures, trees, beasts all in gilt, framed and glazed, sight size 9 1/4 x 12 3/8 in.
