Federal Walnut One-drawer Sugar Chest, 19th century, ht. 31, wd. 34 1/2, dp. 21 in. Estimate $800-1,200 chest exhibits a slight wobble, has been refinished, with splits to the stiles and backboard, the central interior partition is missing, and there is a small chip to the corner of the drawer. There is a bit of staining to the top as well as a repair at one hinge where it was almost blown out.
