Walnut High Chest of Drawers, possibly mid-Atlantic or southeastern United States, 18th century, upper section with three thumb-molded short drawers above two half drawers and three long drawers, set into the lower section of two rows of half drawers above a skirt with small pendant joining cabriole legs ending in slipper feet, ht. 75 1/2, lower case wd. 40, lower case dp. 21 1/2 in. Estimate $3,000-5,000 at least one knee return replaced (right side), drawerfronts are solid walnut, very minor thumbmolding patches and some minor warping to drawerfronts, secondary wood is yellow pine, small patches to two knots on right side of upper case, one at back edge.
