Mott Iron Works, New York, c. 1886, the flattened full-body form modeled after Bartholdi's Statue of Liberty on Bedloe's Island in New York Harbor, with gilt and verdigris surface, ht. 42, arrow lg. 44 1/2 in. Provenance: The estate of Mr. Tyner, Cabbot Street, Mount Holyoke, Massachusetts, purchased directly from J.L.
