Note: Annie Mural Tolliver was born in Alabama and is the daughter of noted folk artist Mose Tolliver. She signed his name to her paintings until around 1990, when she asked her father's permission to sign her own name. While her father's work certainly influences her art, she continues to paint and develop her own style.
