George III Sterling Silver Salver, London, 1808-09, Paul Storr, maker, the shell and scroll rim centering an engraved rocaille surface with engraved crest to center, on four bracket feet, dia. 19 3/4 in., approx. 79.3 troy oz. Estimate $2,000-3,000 With Victorian rim and feet, marked for Henry Holland, London, c. 1841, engraved border also probably a Victorian addition. With linear silver solder restoration or reworking to two areas of the underside (see images) along outer edge of the engraved surface. Silver solder repair to one seam along upper joint to Victorian border, another to the joint between pie-crust rim and surface on the underside, and small repair to underside along one area of pie-crust edge.
