Pair of Georgian Upholstered Mahogany Armchairs, England, 19th century, each carved overall, with acanthus-decorated serpentine crest, red silk-covered back and seat, open curvate arms, shaped apron with centralized shell motif, and legs with foliate knees extending to hairy paw feet, ht. 45 1/8, wd. 27 1/2, dp. 31 in. Estimate $500-700 Each have repairs to arms. Overall signs of age-typical wear to each including rubbing, nicks and scuffs, some wear to feet, recovered, white accretion/surface grime (possibly paint) on back of one of the chair frames at top.
