Neoclassical-style Marble Bust of Venus and Pedestal, after Antonio Canova (1757-1822), carved female figure on a round socle, unsigned, with a columnar stand decorated with swag and ribbon motif, overall with pedestal and plinth ht. 65 1/4, wd. 14, dp. 14 in. Estimate $1,500-2,000 Bust ht. 19 1/2", width at shoulders 12 3/4". Each part weathered, dirty and stained. The bust has a chip to a curl at the to the top of her head and with scattered abrasions to other curls. The lower torso rim with three sizable chips and edge roughness. The pedestal is chippy along the footrim. the socle has a large rim chip. Square base with age typical corner chips and allover abrasions.
