Carl Thieme/ Potschappel (German, f. 1872). A porcelain figural sculpture depicting a Napoleonic French soldier on horseback with ceremonial war drums mounted to either side of saddle, the soldier and horse wearing garments of cobalt blue and orange with elaborate gilt patterning, the horse standing on four legs atop a grass patterned oval plinth. Marked to underside "Germany" and to back of plinth with maker's mark. Overall approximately 13.75" x 12" x 5.25".
