Silk embroidered pouch in very good vintage condition, framed with facsimile reproduction of The Sun article about Li Hung Chang. Lot is accompanied by framed facsimile reproductions of two newspaper articles about Li Hung Chang and Miss Josephine Claudius. Tears, creases, and aging of paper to original documents; original envelopes not present. Some chips and light scratches to edges of frames.
Lot features an embroidered silk scent bag, measuring 14 h x 4.25 w inches, gifted to Josephine Amelia Claudius from Li Hung-Chang. Sold with two original autographed letters and framed facsimile reproductions of same authographed letters and their envelopes, 1896-97, to Miss Josephine Amelia Claudius from Li Hung-Chang.
