Lower edges of vase shows few small areas of missed glaze.
One detail alongside wall bears a short fissure showing as a firing flaw (images available). One small area of restoration along upper edge mainly visible when examined under UV light. Good condition.
Halier left Royal Copenhagen in 1926 to start his own studio with Arne Bang where, for the next four years, he produced unique stoneware vessels in collaboration with visiting artists such as Salto, who worked there from 1929-30 prior to moving on to Saxbo and then Royal Copenhagen. This sizable vessel, with its undulating and stylized organic motif, constitutes an example of his nascent Den Spirende Stil (The Sprouting Style), which the artist would go on to coin in a special publication of the same name in 1949. Incised signature to underside ‘Salto’.
