First edition, folio, with the double page map of New England present, ex libris Ebenezer Hazard (1744-1817), with his signature on the title and a few notes in the text; bound in contemporary calf boards, rebacked and re-cornered, minor fraying edges to some leaves, first few leaves sprung, 12 1/2 x 8 in. Hazard was appointed first Postmaster of New York City by the Continental Congress, he then served as surveyor general of the Continental Post Office in 1776, and United States Postmaster General from 1782 to 1789. He was also a publisher and historian.
