Willard, Samuel (1640-1707) The Peril of the Times Displayed. Boston: B. Green & J. Allen, sold by Benjamin Eliot, 1700. First and only edition listed in ESTC, 12mo, bound in original American sheepskin over scabbard, quite worn, 5 1/4 x 3 in. Samuel Willard was born in Concord, Massachusetts, in 1640, he strenuously opposed the Salem witch trials and served as pastor in Boston and Groton. He also served as acting president at Harvard College from 1701 until his death in 1707.
