To Alfred Knopf, concerning getting together for a social occasion, a "glowing" review in the New York Times Book review by Robert Hillyer about "The Hill of Dreams," and "Things & Near and Far"; other business concerning the publication of works, Machen plans to send the preface to the Heptameron , asks to be sent proofs of Ornaments in Jade , notes that The London Adventure is typed, and is thankful for a royalty statement; the third letter mentions The Anatomy of Tobacco , each letter slightly toned, with Knopf processing stamps or notes.
