American School, first half 20th century. "Boy Tying Shoe", oil on canvas, unsigned. Genre painting depicting young boy sitting on a wooden ladderback chair in his bedroom before an open window and tying his brown shoe as the other shoe lies on the wooden plank floor beside him, the boy wearing blue overalls and white shirt and set before an unmade bed in background with clothes hung on wall to left on hooks. Framed approximately 23.5" x 19.75". Unframed approximately 20" x 16".
