Puzzle Box. Holland: Eddy Taytelbaum, 1970s. The magician borrows a ring and, out of the spectator’s sight, places it inside the crate. When handed back the crate, the spectator is unable to open it. 2 ½ x 2 x 1”. Fine. The first of this effect to be manufactured by Taytelbaum. This design was inspired by a small wooden box given as a prize to Taytelbaum for winning a competition of close-up magic in 1958. The prize itself was adapted from English cigar boxes, which appear “impossible” to open.
