American, second half 19th century. Early American colorless flint glass quart decanter and engraved compote, the 'fine point' quart decanter with appropriate patterned mushroom stopper over three facetted neck rings and eleven cut paneled neck with sharp fine point or diamond point body on circular foot with sixteen rays under the foot; and a colorless compote or fruit bowl with scalloped rim and wheel engraved body decorated with ferns, flowering foliage and a perched bird with raised wings, the bottom of bowl with graduated oval cut panels raised on a faceted cut and paneled stem on a circular foot with 26 rays. Both apparently unmarked, probably Boston Sandwich and Pittsburgh. Approximate height of decanter 8.75". Approximate height of compote 7.75", diameter of mouth 8.75".
