Feuerman is a recognized pioneer in the creation of hyperrealist sculpture, which emerged in the 1970’s alongside photo-realist painting. Feuerman and her contemporizes Duane Hanson and John De Andrea, lead the movement in creating highly detailed, life like super realist sculptures that portray ordinary everyday folk in domestic daily pursuits. Hanson uniforms and props achieved a Pop Art irony, De Andrea work often explores complexities and sensitivities associated with relationships, while Feuerman’s figures seemingly convey and emit a sense of inner peace.
