david aitken, carnwath, first half 19th century the hood having a swan neck pediment above the painted face with Roman numeral hours and secondary dials for seconds and day of the month, raised on a straight trunk flanked by columnar pilasters and raised on a stepped plinth. Height 76 3/4 inches. In overall good, stable condition. Case complete with fairly even finish, having light surface wear (nicks and scratches) consistent with age. Age splits to trunk. Glass to hood intact without cracks. Painted dial in good condition but with typical crazing throughout. Works appear complete with decorated pendulum, bell, two iron weights, crank and case key. Clock runs but unsure as to accuracy or duration of movement. Additional images available upon request.
