John Audubon (American, 1785-1851) ornithological prints pair. The first being "Summer or Wood Duck" marked to the top left "No. 42", marked to the top right " PLAT CCVI", marked to the lower right "Engraved, Printed, & colored by R. Havell 1834", and marked to the lower left "Drawn From Nature by J. J. Audibon FRS. FLS". The second piece is entitled "Pileated Woodpecker", and is marked to the top left "No. 23", marked to the top right "PLATE CXI", marked to the lower right "Engraved, Printed, & Colored by R. Havell", and marked to the lower left "Drawn From Nature by J.J. Audibon. FRS. FLS". Also marked to lower center "Pileated Woodpecker Picus Pileatus". Both are in identical black frames and matted under glass. Frames measure 28" in height by 21" in width with the sight images measuring 18" in height by 12" in width. All measurements are approximate.
