Jack Perlmutter (American, 1920 - 2006) abstract oil on canvas signed by the artist to the lower left hand corner. Open face black painted wooden frame measures approximately 51" in height by 60" in width. In overall good condition.Jack Perlmutter (American, 1920 - 2006) was born in New York City, but was known to be a Washington, D.C. painter and printmaker. He was Professor of Art and Chairman of the Printmaking Department at the Corcoran Gallery of Art from 1960 - 1982, and was Curator of the Washington, D.C. cosmos Club. He was also an authority on Japanese prints, and was a Fulbright Research Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts.
