Mary Drewry Garber (Virginia, 1952 - 2009) raku clay Pog sculpture; signed to back, measures 8" in height, with 11" width, & 6" in depth. In overall good condition, all measurements are approximate. Mary Garber (1952-2009) was a local Virginia artist. She received her MFA in 1983 from Virginia Commonwealth University and transitioned from printmaking and cartoons to ceramics where she invented her hand made 'Pog' sculptures. She dubbed her whimsical creations 'pogs' after being asked repeatedly whether they were pigs, dogs or hippos.
