Rosewood Spring-powered Shaku Dokei or Pillar Clock, long rosewood case with usual brass movement, front plate engraved with chrysanthemums, turned half-columns at front, and verge escapement regulated by a balance wheel, all powered by a spring barrel in the base connected by a cord to the winding drum of the upper movement, the upper part of the trunk has the usual scale with adjustable hour indicators, the pointer is connected to the cord and as it unwinds it shows the time, ht. 38 in.
