Patent Alarm Timepiece or "Lighthouse Clock" Attributed to Simon Willard, Roxbury, Massachusetts, 1820, box-form mahogany case with door access to weight and pendulum, wooden collar supporting the glass dome over the painted iron roman numeral dial with barbed hands and brass alarm disk, five-wheel train with dead-beat escapement and beat-setting thumb screw threaded through the suspension "T", all powered by a lead weight, attached alarm mechanism with crank and small lead weight with bell mounted above, ht. to the top of small dome 23 1/2, 27 1/2 in. to top of large dome. Note: Two domes are included in this lot. The tall dome is a reproduction, while the short dome is likely the original. This clock is illustrated in Paul J. Foley and John C.
