Wright Mill Geer/Gear and Machine Wheel Instrument, Glossop, England, c. 1790, 16-in. lacquered brass engraved instrument with rule joint marked on one side Machine Wheels and calibrated 6-26, arms marked 10-160, pitch line and depth of tooth scales, opposite side marked Mills Geer Wheels on rule joint and calibrated 0-2, arm scale marked 0-80, both sides having three posts or mill feet for elevating the instrument. Note: The Smithsonian National Museum of American History collection holds a similar example.
