19th century. Pair of hand painted porcelain scenic footed urns with gilt harpie decorated handles, leaf and floral banding on neck and leaf banding on circular foot. Each urn with rectangular finely painted landscape view with small figures and a building. One depicting figures enjoying a hunt with their dogs across the water from a large stone building with two turrets--two boats head across the water to the estate. The other with figures on a dirt road through the woods by a quaint stone building--two women enjoy a picnic, figures in the distance herd some livestock, and a uniformed man on horseback converses with a man in a brown jacket. Backs of each porcelain urn with Empire motif in gold on gold ground. Each porcelain urn raised on gilt square plinth. Apparently unsigned. Overall height 11.75 inches, width (across handles) 6.75 inches.
