circa 300 b. c.e. the obverse with a seated male holding a spear in his left hand and a sword in his right hand within an Ionic naiskos, flanked on his right by a draped female offering bearer holding an open larnax and a filleted wreath, flanked on his left by a nude male offering bearer holding a platter and a filleted wreath; the reverse with a draped male and two draped male attendants holding staffs; with a band of meander and dotted squares below the scenes, palmettes complexes below the handles and a band of laurel encircling the mouth; details in added white, yellow and red. Height 29 1/2 x diameter 12 inches. Provenance: Purchased Ancient Art International, Vero Beach, Florida Accompanied by a copy of a Thermoluminescence Analysis Report from Alliance Science-Art, Paris, France, dated November 22, 1990 Repaired from multiple fragments with some fill and overpainting in the breaks. The right handle restored (from the obverse). The foot, stem and a portion of the lower body restored. With a cement platform adhered to the underside for stability. Minor chips, losses and crackling throughout.
