(19th century) Portrait of a Boy with Helmet oil on canvas 29 x 23 1/2 inches. Property from the Collection of Elizabeth D. Remmert, St. Louis, Missouri Shows well in natural light. Examined under UV light. Work has been heavily varnished. Inpainting visible - heaviest along right side of boy's back, in lower left quadrant and along left edge of painting. Possible repair to boy's forehead on above far right side of right eyebrow. Craquelure consistent throughout. Stretcher marks are visible. Possibly relined.
