(American, 19th Century) Thomas Bloodgood, Sixth President of City Bank of New York, 1832-1843 oil on canvas laid to board 19 x 15 1/2 inches. Property from the Estate of Richard Gardiner-McSwyny, Naples, Florida Craquelure throughout, particularly to the face and white shirt of the subject. Scattered, minor areas of discoloration throughout consistent with age. Vertical areas of wear to the upper-left edge of the canvas in the form of abrasions and associated, minor areas of loss to the paint layer. Examination under UV light reveals an even varnish.
