(Northern European, 16th Century) Pieta oil on panel 26 x 20 inches. Property from the Estate of Marlene Nasreddine, Miami, Florida Unframed. Craquelure, flaking, discoloration and minor areas of loss to the paint layer consistent with age. Scattered age splits throughout consistent with age. Dent to the panel upper-center approximately 1 1/2 inches in length, with associated flaking and loss to the paint. Surface wear, various instances of loss and some warping to the edges consistent with a lack of frame. Back reinforced with four vertical wood supports. Examination under UV reveals an even varnish and scattered areas of retouch, the largest two on or above Mary's shoulder.
