after etienne-pierre-adrien gois (1731-1823) depicting Louis XV after the marble example at Chateau de Versailles, incised Gois 1770 to the reverse and raised on a cobalt porcelain socle with gilt highlights, bearing a blue interlaced Ls mark to the underside. With scattered areas of discoloration to the white ground, particularly evident on the shoulders. Accumulation of dirt to the recesses. Hairline abrasion to the proper-right shoulder, and two hairline abrasions to the underside, with one example extending up the proper-left side of the bust. Socle with chips and associated surface loss on all four corners.
