There are chips to the blue enamel band accents, one diamond is missing. Diamond Characteristics (graded in setting) Color: F-J Clarity: VS1-SI1, a few SI2 Overall Condition: Numerous stones exhibit superficial surface abrasions which are visible under 10X magnification Sapphire Characteristics (graded in setting) It is the opinion of the gemologist (Eblen) that the sapphire in this brooch has internal characteristics (unaltered rutile "silk" needles, unaltered seconday "fingerprints") consistent with those observed in natural sapphire that has not been color/clarity enhanced with heat treatment, and that the most likely location of geographical origin would be Sri Lanka (Ceylon).
