Pair of circa 1940 Art Deco asymmetrical nightstands designed by Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller with an Ash burl and black walnut design, one drawer over one door and having custom glass tops Nightstands measure approximately 27" high, 16" wide and 12" in depth, each. One nightstand has a Herman Miller, Gilbert Rohde placard to inside drawer and paper tag to back. Both stamped "3626".Gilbert Rohde (1894–1944), whose career as a furniture and industrial designer helped to define American modernism during its first phase from the late 1920s to World War II, is best known today for inaugurating modern design at Herman Miller Inc.
