Watercolor and Pen and Ink Fraktur for Elisabeth Burger (b. 1824), attributed to George Gottfried Ephraim Burger (Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, 1790-1861), intricately designed and drawn in red, yellow, green, blue, and black, incorporating a wide variety of floral and foliate devices, and elaborate lettering typical of the artist's work, 15 x 12 in., (minor edge losses, very minor trimming), in a modern frame. Note: George Burger was a German immigrant who settled in Pennsylvania after 1816, and married Elisabeth Schumacher of Hempfield Township in March 1818.
