American Chippendale mahogany upholstered lolling chair, ca. 1780, with a serpentine crest and straight molded front legs joined by stretchers, 44 1/4" h., 30 3/4" w. The unusual back is attached by screws to the frame in a manner similar to that of Philadelphia Chippendale sofas.
