Chinese, 19th century. Pair of Chinese hand carved figural sculptures composed of ivory tusks, each with adult figure standing next to child in an outdoor setting. One depicting a fisherman with wide brimmed hat holding a caught fish beside child reaching upward with a rocky cliff in background marked with cherry blossom tree. The other with a robed figure holding lotus flower in hand and ruyi scepter in other standing beside a child holding indistinguishable object in hand with opposite hand touching the adult figure's shoulder with similar rocky cliff and cherry tree in background. Both apparently unmarked and raised on a circular wooden base. Height of fisherman carving (without base) 9.1". Height of other figural group with figure holding scepter 9.2".
