THIS LOT IS BEING SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE the Mother of God shown expressing profound affection, veiled by the thought of Child`s future Passion, the border of Mary`s vestments is richly decorated with fine bead-like dots, the Christ Child is shown rigidly vertical and wearing a regal dress highlighted by a subtle web of gold. Egg tempera, gold leaf and gesso on wood panel. Two insert splints on the back (one missing). 32.2 x 27.5 cm (12 1/4 x 11 7/8 in.)
