Chinese, 20th century. Carved bone figural sculpture in the form of a Guanyin (Buddhist goddess of mercy and compassion) with tall headdress above black hair surrounding face with rounded cheeks, closed eyes, and calm and pleasant facial expression. Body wearing long robes accented in green, hand holding object and other hand in mudra gesture. Figure standing at full length, rendered in the round and standing barefoot on a lotus form base. Apparently unsigned. Approximate height 20.9", diameter of base 6.25".
