Chinese, 20th century. A carved and unpolished white marble Happy Buddha or Hotei sculpture depicting the figure seated in a modified lotus position with one leg bent at the knee with foot on floor and his hand holding a string of beads over the knee, his rotund belly exposed by draping robe, his face with elongated earlobes and wide smiling expression under almond eyes. Overall approximately 15" x 12.5" x 9.5".
