William Sildar (American, 1929 - 2006) wood wall sculpture, depicting a collection of children's toys such as blocks and other figures, and titled to the back "The Children's Parade" and also "The Two of Us Once Played Here Together III". Signed to lower right "Sildar 73" as well as to the back, "Sildar 1973", and measuring 10-3/4" in height with width of 26-1/4" and depth of 1-1/2". In overall good condition, all measurements are approximate. William Peter Sildar (American, 1929 - 2006) was active and lived in New York. He was known for torso and mixed-media (made of twigs, dolls, pieces of wood,etc.) sculpture as well as teaching. From the mid 1960s through the 1970s he operated a workshop in the East Village of New York as well as being a part-time sculpture teacher at a university there. He died February 27, 2006.
