Japanese, late 19th/ early 20th century. A large Imari palette porcelain bowl decorated to exterior with cartouches of birds on tree branches within a field of blue alternating with cartouches of red phoenixes surrounded by leaves, with bands at foot of flowers and swirling geometric forms, the interior of bowl with a figural scene to basin, three floral groupings to side walls, and floral band to shaped rim, the bowl to a round carved wooden stand. Bowl approximately 5" tall, 11" diameter.
