Pablo Picasso (Spain, 1881 - 1973) unframed 1959 linocut depicting semi-abstract nude figures playing musical instruments and dancing. Signed in pencil by the artist to the lower right hand corner. Measures approximately 12-1/2" in height by 14-1/2" in width. In overall good condition, all measurements are approximate. No certificate of authenticity accompanies this piece, however style & signature are representative of the artist's known works. Provenance: from the estate of a prominent European & Texas collector, known to not only to have collected quite an amazing assortment of notable art, but to have befriended a vast majority of the artists whose work was acquired. Linocuts form a relatively small part of Picasso’s oeuvre as a printmaker, however some of his most outstanding compositions were produced using this method in a short burst of activity between 1958 and 1963.
