Rufino Tamayo (New York/Mexico, 1899 - 1991) framed oil & sand on canvas depicting a semi-abstract geometric figure of a man on blue background, looking up at the moon, created in 1981 and entitled "Hombre Gritando A La Luna", or "Man Shouting At The Moon". This piece comes complete with certificate of authenticity, please see photographs. Framed in a burlwood frame and measuring 26-1/2" in height with 22-1/2" in width in frame, with sight image height of 19-1/2" and width of 15-1/2" and is signed "Tamayo" to the lower right hand corner. Painting is in overall good condition, frame has condition issues, please see photographs. All measurements are approximate. Provenance: from the estate of a prominent Texas collector, known to not only to have collected quite an assortment of notable art, but to have befriended a vast majority of the artists of whose work was acquired.
