Eadweard Muybridge (British, 1830-1904) Two Plates from Animal Locomotion : Plate 286 (Man Throwing a Baseball) and Plate 307 (Man Throwing a Discus), 1887. Identified within the plates. Collotypes on paper, sheet size 19 x 24 in. (48.3 x 61.0 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Minor discoloration and scattered minor losses at sheet edges, plate 286 with a tear in sheet u.c. Provenance: Property from the collection of Harvey Shipley Miller, proceeds to benefit the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
