Gillows Mahogany Writing Table, England, first half 19th century, rectangular top with rounded corners project over concealed two-drawer frieze accented by beaded edge, one drawer stamped "GILLOWS LANCASTER," raised on turned and reeded column supports, ht. 28 1/2, wd. 47 3/4, dp. 27 3/4 in. Note: Gillows' sketchbooks c. 1822-30 have many similar designs to this table.
