$250
second half 20th century each having a rounded crest rail above a padded back and a stuffover seat, the downswept arms supported by sphinxes, raised on eagle monopodia with paw cast feet. Height 40 1/2 inches. Both chairs in decent, stable condition overall. Both show surface wear and discoloration to the upholstered backs and seats , particularly in the form of wear to the repeating wreath decoration and a tear to one stuffover seat. Both upholstered seats and padded backs are slightly misshapen, consistent with use. All bronze mounts are present and intact, with varying degrees of patina and surface wear (in the form of scratches and minor nicks). One of the paw cast feet is loose from the leg. One chair has a split to the proper right side of its crest rail, approximately 2 1/2 inches in length, as well as an area of loss to the veneer on its proper left-back foot. The other chair shows significant abrasions to its fore-legs.
